I bought a Brinkman. It works OK. 500 sounds like a strong currency, unless you are cooking large quantities of meat

Charbroil bought New Braunfels Oklahoma Joe and who does so much good, smoker at low prices. Now they have several models under the kitchen table with subtle areas. It's very well together. It's a double door silver offest at Lowe's, is a little smaller.
You can always have a water smoker. Cheap and effective.
Who had an with an offset firebox, damper, removable grille, a temperature gauge and thicker steel can be found found. It should not be hard to find under $ 500.
My first was a hand me down smoking with paper thin and leaking everywhere. QI has been some really good "before climbing into a custom $ 3K. It's not the smoking that is the difference. Question: My 'not done better, I can do now.
